It's a.....

Sorry- I've got to many places to update that I forgot all about the blog!

It's a BOY.... yes... he has a weiner.  Why does my womb refuse to create, carry or grow anything but weiners?  I just don't get it :)

But really- I am actually excited- nothing to paint- nothing to stress about re-decorating. And honestly, I think my sister-in-law Lindsay was more disappointed than me!

Brothers

This morning I decided it was about time to take Samuel's 6 month pictures. Ok- I know- he's 7 month's but what does that matter, right?

Anyway- I didn't get everything I wanted, but I figured I would do some of the same poses I did with Mikey when he was 3 month's. I'm seeing some slight similarities between the two of them now, same brow's, same eyes and same noses.  I didn't realize when I was taking this, it's the exact position I had Phillip hold Mikey in.

Here's the one I'm talking about- un-edited- converted to B&W.

Here's Mikey (and his toupee :) at 3 months old. Wow- I still remember that little face, then again I don't think you ever really forget them do you?

The countdown begins

After a very llllooooonnnnngggg waiting to see about appointments, referrals, more appointments etc, we're finding out on Monday what we're having. :)

I am: excited, nervous, anxious and happy.  I told Phillip the other day that I'm very torn- I'd love to have a sweet little Sophia, but having 3 boys would be a blast.  Seeing the boys together always makes me smile- so we'll have to see what the Lord's decided. I'm very grateful I don't have to make the decision!

Check back Monday night

Samuel say...

This afternoon I was feeding Samuel his "dinner" and he started babbling.  So I tell him, "Samuel say momma, momma, say momma".
Mikey comes up next to him in the highchair and says, "Samuel say MMMMMIIIKKKEEYYYY."  Very slowly so his brother could understand him.

It's the little things that make my momma heart smile.

I Heart Chubby Babies

Samuel has such an infectious smile- anytime someone smiles at him he returns with a big old sweet smile.  I think he's starting to grow into his personality.  He doesn't like to be alone, he wants to be around people. He likes to laugh and is starting to become quite the "babbler". He seems to really love when his big brother is around.
This week he's really started to get good at rolling over, but after rolling around for about 10 minutes he's over it!
Michael has been asking me to leave Samuel in his room with him while he plays trains. I was hesitant at first- not real sure what tricks Michael would try.  The first time I did this- Michael decided Samuel was "freezing cold" and piled blankets and blankets on him. Uhhh.... yeah.  The second time, he lined each car he could find (around 40 no kidding) next to Samuel and was VERY upset when Samuel messed up his line.  Now- he does pretty good, Samuel likes to listen to Michael chatting about his trains, his dogs and whatever else he thinks up.  The two are gonna be good buddies I think.
And by the way- we've decided on a boy name, finally. IF it's a boy- his name will be Joshua Anthony and of course, we're still praying very hard that Sophia Mae is growing in my womb :)

Don't you wanna just eat him up- I honestly can't stop kissing him- good thing he likes it!

This month

My first post of the new year and it's the last day of January...uhhhh. Where does the time go? Before I know it I'll be home with a 1 year old and a 1 day old.  This thought has been overwhelming me a lot lately. Like overwhelming to the point that I start looking around my house wondering how we're going to fit 3 children in here?  Don't get me wrong- we have plenty of room, but 3 children?  I have to keep reminding myself that the Lord must have some faith in me because He thinks I can handle it!

Anyway- this month has pretty much been the usual.  Playdates, nice weather to play outside in, Mikey teaching Samuel lots of new things.  Each morning I wake up to hear both the boys in the baby monitor.  Michael jumps in with Samuel and gives him toys, sings to him etc.  Honesty- I don't really mind since it buys me about 30 more glorious minutes of sleep.

This was taken at the beginning of the month, I started un-decorating for Christmas and Michael was having none of it!  He kept taking out the stockings, putting them all back up and asking why we couldn't still have Christmas?  I realized I was fighting a loosing battle so I just decided to wait till naptime to finish up.

Last week it was actually 78 degrees outside so Phillip decided to mow the lawn after a 3 month break.  Which brings me to something- don't you ladies wish you could take a 3 month break from housework or laundry?  I mean really- I wish from the months of October-January I could say to Phillip, "The kids just don't dirty up anything during these months so I have nothing to clean!"  I guess that's just wishful thinking huh?
Anyway- Mikey was very excited to boss Phillip around the backyard while "they" mowed the lawn :)
