How sweet it is

Since I know I don't tell him enough- I'll write it on our blog. :)  "I'm in love- I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!" (from the movie Elf)

How sweet it is to be loved by you-
I close my eyes at night
Wondering where would I be without you in my life
Everything I did was just a bore
Everywhere I went it seems I'd been there before
But you brighten up for me all of my days
With a love so sweet in so many ways
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby

How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you

Lazy Days

I don't like days like today- I have about a million and one things to do. Laundry, cleaning out Katie's pool (did I mention in a previous post we have 5 dobie puppies in our garage?) anyway- there's a lot more things that I should be doing.  So today I woke up feeling determined to get my house ready for the weekend (I have a wedding to shoot, if I leave it clean, Phillip does a perfect job of keeping it clean).  So- I check my e-mail while Mikey finished bacon and eggs. Then Mikey wanted to go see the puppies, we sat in the garage- no kidding- for about 45 minutes.

Our conversation was something like this:
Mikey: See puppies mommy?
Me: I see them.
Mikey: Wanna hold him.
Me: OK- but you have to be careful
Mikey: wanna hold dat one
Me: Ok- be careful Mikey
Mikey: wanna kiss him
Me: Ok- but be sweet with him
Mikey: see puppies mommy?

And our conversation repeated pretty much the same as above for the remaining 45 minutes.  Next thing I know, it's about 10am and I HAVE to start some laundry since there's shirts I need to iron (which I hate).  I send Mikey outside to play, go upstairs to get laundry, go back downstairs and I can hear Mikey in the garage talking to the puppies. I go in the garage, he's laying next to Katie (who stinks horribly) and has 2 puppies on his lap.  I utter to myself: Lord have mercy, help these little puppies to survive the next 6 weeks.  While this is happening I'm wondering if they make some sort of swing you can attach to the ceiling for babies- that way Samuel will be out of Michael's reach.

I get Mikey out of the puppy pool and we play outside (well he plays, I sit while he tells me to "watch this mom") for the next hour or so.  I'm so thankful he enjoys being outside, by this time it's about noon and I'm wondering where in the world the morning went. Oh well, I guess there's tomorrow :)

Phillip and I took this picture on top of the Empire State Building.  We had so much fun that trip- walking around Time Square, ice skating at Rockefeller Center, the Nike store, Tiffany's, the Met... I could go on and on. We've been blessed with some really fun memories together. It seems like life has gotten so crazy in our house- Phillip working so much, church commitments, puppies, babies, potty training- seriously. I'm thankful I can look at a scrapbook and remember the sweet times we spent together- just the two of us :) I'm married to a really great man.

Costco Trip

Mikey's at such a fun age now, it's hard to imagine adding a newborn to the mix.  It's fun taking him places because he keeps me company and he says funny stuff. As I'm pushing the cart around he's waving at people saying, "I'm Mikey-later" to anyone and everyone that makes eye contact with him. This is funny to me because I'm married to the boy who wore a bucket hat and headphones at college so he didn't have to talk to anyone :)  Dare I say he's becoming more like his mommy?

Every boy needs a dog

I think it's safe to say one of Michael's best friends is Napoleon (Poli)- our dog.  When Mikey comes down stairs in the morning he always looks for him.  If he doesn't see Poli sitting by the sliding glass door, he bangs on the door and calls him.  Of course he always comes from where ever he is in the yard and sits and stares at Mikey.  They have a sweet little friendship- Poli lets Mikey do whatever he wants.  Mikey wrestles with him, bosses him around the back yard, crashes into him with his scooter, etc.  Napoleon just lays there, taking all the love in :)  The other day Mikey was outside and it was a little to quiet, I looked out the back door and Mikey was sitting next to Poli on the grass- jabbering away about who knows what.  I got some cute pictures of the two of them. Look how sweet they are together-
